MURRUMBEENA VIC — SCOPE OF WORKS

Kitchen renovation services, set out as a scope of works.

Kitchen Renovation Murrumbeena works the way a cabinetmaker’s paperwork does: every part of a kitchen is a named line item with a stage attached to it. Below are the twelve services that make up the offer — from the first consultation and site measure through design, cabinetry, benchtops and splashbacks to the day the room is handed back. Read them as a document. Open the line that matches your project, or send the whole thing to us as a free quote request.

Twelve line items, one continuous scope

Most kitchens use several of these at once. A complete renovation absorbs design, cabinetry, benchtops, splashbacks and tiling into one program; a makeover might take only three of them. The qualifier on the right of each line names the trade the work sits under — design, joinery, stone, tile or fitout — so you can see at a glance where your project’s weight will fall.

Design and measure come before any number

A price written before the room is measured is a guess. Every service on this page begins the same way: a consultation on site to hear what is wrong with the current kitchen, then a measure that records wall lengths, service positions, floor levels and the openings the joinery has to live between.

Those numbers feed the drawing. Kitchen Design resolves bench heights, appliance clearances, drawer versus door, and where the bin, sink and cooktop sit in relation to each other. Finishes are chosen at the same time, because cabinetry colour, benchtop material and splashback all move the figure. Only then is a written scope issued, line by line, so you can read what is included rather than infer it.

The twelve stages, in order

Whichever line items your kitchen uses, the work runs through the same schedule. Stages are staggered so trades are not standing on each other, and so cabinetry is fixed and scribed before stone is templated.

01  Consultation — scope, priorities and constraints discussed on site.

02  Measure — walls, services, levels and openings recorded.

03  Design — layout, joinery and finishes drawn up.

04  Quote — a written scope, item by item.

05  Materials — selections confirmed and ordered against lead times.

06  Demolition — old kitchen stripped out and waste removed.

07  Preparation — plumbing and electrical rough-in, patching, levelling.

08  Cabinetry — carcasses set, scribed and fixed; doors hung.

09  Benchtops — templated to the installed joinery, fabricated, fitted.

10  Splashback — tile or slab set out and fixed.

11  Finishing — appliances connected, hardware adjusted, trims and silicone.

12  Handover — final clean, walk-through and care notes.

Read each stage in detail on the process page, or plan ahead with the pre-start checklist.

Where the budget actually goes

Three line items carry most of the cost and most of the daily experience: the cabinets, the benchtop and the way the inside of the joinery is fitted out.

Kitchen Cabinets covers carcass material, door finish and hinge and runner quality — the parts you touch fifty times a day. Custom Cabinetry takes over where standard sizes stop fitting. Benchtops then set the tone of the room and its maintenance load, and Storage Solutions decide whether the finished kitchen feels generous or cramped, regardless of its footprint.

If you are still weighing materials, the guides on benchtop materials, cabinet doors and finishes and kitchen layouts are the fastest way to narrow the field before you enquire.

Price the scope line by line

Name the line items your kitchen needs — one of the twelve, or eight of them — and each is priced against a site measure rather than a square-metre average. Consultation and measure come first, then a written scope you can read item by item before anything is ordered.
