Home / Kitchen Renovation / Written Quotation
A kitchen renovation quote is only useful if it describes your actual kitchen. Ivan Bodnar is an independent home renovation specialist with approximately 15 years of hands-on residential renovation experience. He prepares a free written quotation for Murrumbeena homeowners once the free on-site assessment is done. The quote is not drawn up from a phone call or a photo alone.

01 How the kitchen needs to work for your household
02 The existing condition of cabinets, benches, walls and floor
03 Whether the current layout can stay, and what can be reused
04 Finishes, and the surface preparation they will need
05 Services: where plumbing or electrical changes will need licensed trades
06 Signs of moisture, substrate problems or underlying damage
You talk to Ivan directly about what is not working: storage, bench space, worn surfaces, an awkward layout.
A free inspection of the kitchen as it stands, including what new finishes would sit on.
Ivan explains what is practical: what can stay, what needs replacing and which suitable materials fit the job.
The scope is set out in writing, free of charge, so you can review it and ask questions before deciding.
The short answer is after the assessment, once the scope is clear enough to write down properly. How long that takes depends on the kitchen.
A splashback or surface replacement on a sound wall can be described quite directly. A kitchen where the layout may change, cabinets may be reused, or plumbing and electrical points may move needs more thought. Input from licensed trades may also be needed for those parts of the work.
Ivan would rather give you a quotation that reflects what he has actually seen than a quick figure that changes once the old cabinets come out. If something is unclear during the assessment, he will tell you then rather than leave it out of the quote.
Ivan is an independent sole trader and does not personally claim unverified trade licences or builder registration. Where your kitchen needs licensed plumbing or electrical work, that part is carried out by appropriately authorised specialists. How licensed trades fit into a kitchen renovation explains this in more detail.
Contract, insurance and approvals wording is checked for each project rather than copied from one job to the next. Permits, registration, insurance and licensed trade requirements vary with the scope, so they are confirmed against your kitchen and your scope.
An inspection cannot reveal every concealed issue. Moisture, damaged substrate or ageing services may only become visible once cabinets and splashbacks are removed. If that happens, Ivan explains what he has found and the practical options before work continues.
